There has been great excitement across the whole school this week with the arrival of six ducklings. The incubator arrived on Tuesday afternoon with six eggs inside. By the end of the school day on Thursday we had six healthy ducklings. Look out for photographs of their progress on our website. We are trying to find a home for the ducklings so if you know anyone who has some land and maybe a pond please speak to the office staff.
School Council – Trip to Parliament
Our School Council members had a fantastic day last Friday when they visited Parliament. They took part in a tour and a workshop. We were extremely proud of them. Their behaviour throughout the whole day was exemplary. Take a look at our gallery for photographs.
Year 2 – Victorian Day
Last Thursday our Year 2 children took part in a Victorian Day. They dressed in Victorian costumes and learnt what it was like to be a child in Victorian times. Please take a look at our website for photographs.
Week commencing 1st May we will be eating meals from Menu 3.
Collecting Your Children
Parents are reminded that any changes to normal collection arrangements (e.g. child going on a playdate, being collected by another parent) should always reported to the school office staff before pick up time. In the event that the parent/carer is running late or has made alternative collection with a friend/relative they should ring the school to advise us of those changes so that both the teacher and child are aware.
We have received a letter from the local councillor for Prettygate, referring us to a recent concern she has received about parents parking in Plume Avenue whilst collecting their children. It has been reported that a few parents arrive at 2.45pm and leave their engines running whilst they wait for their children - for up to 30 minutes - causing fumes to come into her house. May I ask that you consider the local residents, and turn off your engine whilst waiting for your child.
Rolls of Paper
We would be very grateful if anyone has access to some rolls of white paper. We used to have a parent who worked at printing company and was able to bring us the end of the rolls. If you are able to help please speak to the office staff.
Monday 1st May is a public Bank Holiday. School will be closed on this day.
Governors are currently conducting a staff well-being survey.
