Jeans for Genes
Thank you to everyone who took part in our Jeans for Genes day on Friday. We raised £151.52 for the Jeans for Genes charity.
Parents Information Evening
It was good to see so many of you at our Parents’ Information Evening on Thursday. Thank you for your support. We hope you found the evening informative.
School meals for week commencing Monday 3rd October need to be ordered on Monday 23rd September. This will be menu 2 from the new menus. Menus can be viewed on the school website. Please bring your order form to the school office from 8.30am on Monday. All orders should be placed before 3.30pm on Monday.
I am pleased to see that our new children have settled so well into school. Please take a look at our gallery for some photographs. Reception classes join us full time next week (w/c 26th September).
Pippa Goodhart – Author
On Monday 26th September will are looking forward to a visit from the children’s author Pippa Goodhart. Pippa will work with all classes throughout the day and after school will be selling signed copies of her books in our library. Theatre Ticket Raffle
This week is your last chance to get your raffle tickets for Matilda (or a show of your choice). Tickets will be on sale until Friday. £5.00 per strip.
Keep on collecting sponsors for our sponsored skip on Thursday 29th September. Let’s see how much money we can raise for our school. Remember to only ask people you know to sponsor you.
Please can we remind you that children should not wear earrings on the days that they have PE unless they are able to remove them themselves. Children cannot take part in PE lessons if they are wearing earrings and we are no longer able to tape them. This is in line with Essex County Council policy on the wearing of jewellery at school. If you are unsure which days your child has PE please check with their class teacher.
Daily Gazette – Reception Class Photos
On Tuesday 27thSeptember the Daily Gazette are running their ‘New Starter’ picture special. Our Reception classes were photographed for this, so look out for their photograph in the paper on Tuesday. We will have copies of the newspaper for sale in school from Tuesday.
The Big Draw – Week Commencing 3rd October
In the week commencing 3rd October we will be taking part in The Big Draw, a national campaign to get the whole community involved in drawing. All children in school will be involved in our drawing but we are also inviting parents and carers to come along on Monday 3rd October at 2.45pm and Tuesday 4th October at 8.30am.and draw alongside the children. Pre-school children and grandparents are also very welcome. Please come along if you can. If you would like to know more please visit the website
