Welcome to the Summer term. I hope you enjoyed the Easter holiday.

Reception Trip to Marsh Farm
Our Reception classes are visiting Marsh Farm on Wednesday 22nd April (next Wednesday). We are still waiting for a few permission slips and payment to be returned. We do need a signed permission slip for your child or they will not be able to take part in the trip.
We also need to know if you will be providing a packed lunch for your child for this day or if you would like to order a free school packed lunch. As the kitchen needs figures by the morning of Monday 20th April please return your slip to the office first thing Monday morning.
Week commencing 20th April we will be eating meals from Menu 2. Please note that to celebrate St Georges Day on Wednesday next week we will be having the roast beef dinner. This means the roast gammon meal will be the following week (w/c 27th April). Orders for week commencing 27th April (menu 3) need to be placed on Monday 20th April if you have not already done so.
Get Caught Reading
We are extending the date for returning your ‘Get Caught Reading’ photographs. Please bring your photos to the school office by Friday 15th May.
Thank you to everyone who has returned their Smartie tubes. Our Friends of Prettygate are busy counting all the money you have collected. If you have not yet returned your tube please take it to the school office as soon as possible.
Richard Potter, the headteacher at Home Farm Primary School is giving a Cyber Safety talk at his school on the 20th May at 6.30pm. He will look at tablet computer use, mobile phones and apps as well as looking at the behaviours of children in the U.K. and how parents can better understand how to keep their children safe. A large set of resources will also be available to parents. Parking and refreshments are also on offer! Please let the office staff know if you would like to attend, so that I can give Richard some indication of numbers.
Please make sure that your child has a coat in school each day. Our weather is too unpredictable to assume that Summer has begun! Please also note that suncream should be applied before school and NOT brought into school in book bags. Every child must have a sun hat in school. Hats are for sale on the School Trends website or from the school office.
Reception Snack Time
The children in our Reception Classes have snack time each day and we ask for a voluntary contribution of £6.00 per term towards the cost of this. If you have a child in a Reception class please would you take your contribution to the school office in a named envelope. Thank you.
Children in 1C
Unfortunately Mrs Tinnion, who was due to start teaching in 1C at the beginning of this term, has had an accident resulting in a badly broken wrist. Until Mrs Tinnion is fit enough to return to teaching, her place will be taken by Mrs Ramsey, who taught the class at the end of the Spring term.
