Parents Information Evening

Week commencing 5th October we will be eating meals from Menu 2. School meals for week commencing Monday 12th October need to be ordered on Monday 5th October if you have not already done so. This will be menu 3. All orders need to be placed by 3.30pm on Monday afternoon.
Big Draw – Every Drawing Tells a Story
Next week we will be taking part in The Big Draw, a national campaign to get the whole community involved in drawing. All children in school will be involved in our drawing but we are also inviting parents and carers to come along on Monday 5th October at 2.45pm and Tuesday 6th October at 8.30am and draw alongside the children. Pre-school children and grandparents are also very welcome. Please come along if you can. If you would like to know more please visit the website www.thebigdraw.org. This year our theme will be “Every drawing tells a story”.
If you would like to order a copy of your child’s school photograph please return the proof card and payment to the school office as soon as possible. The last day for returning orders to us is Friday 9th October.
Federation of the Governing Bodies
Please take a look at our Governors page for information on the consultation for the federation of the governing bodies of Prettygate Infant School and Prettygate Junior School. You will have had a paper copy of this document this week. If you require any further copies please ask the office staff.
From the Friends of Prettygate Infant School
Our Harvest celebration will take place on Tuesday 20th October when the children will entertain the local senior citizens and grandparents of children in Year 2 with their Harvest songs. This year we are collecting for Colchester Food Bank who make up parcels for people in Colchester who are going through short term crises. We would be grateful for donations of any of the following items: long life milk, cereal, tinned soup, long life fruit juice, pasta sauces, baked beans, tinned rice or sponge pudding, tinned tomatoes, pasta/rice, tinned vegetables, tea bags, instant coffee, instant mashed potato, tinned meat/fish, tinned fruit, sugar, biscuits or snack bars.
Parent /Teacher Interviews
Our parent/teacher interview evenings will take place on Wednesday 21st October between 3.30pm and 6.30pm and Thursday 22nd October October between 4.30pm and 7.30pm. This will be an opportunity for you to discuss your child’s progress with the class teacher. Next week appointment sheets will be available outside school in the mornings from 8.45am to 9.00am and in the afternoons from 2.45pm to 3.15pm. Please sign up for an appointment.
